TIPS FOR SENIORS
• Bright colors look great with our color coordinated backgrounds, but it is best to avoid white clothing for outside portraits.

• Glasses can often reflect light. If possible, try to borrow a pair of matching frames without lenses from your optometrist, most are happy to help. If you do end up with glasses glare, the glare can usually be removed digitally, however, there is an additional charge for this.

• Braces can now be removed digitally. If you don't want to wait to have your Senior portrait made, don't worry. Our digital department can take care of those braces for you. Please keep in mind, however, that there is an additional charge for braces removal.

• Wear your hair in your normal style. The day of your sitting may not be the time to try something new! If you plan to cut, color or perm, be sure to do so a week or more in advance so that you are sure you like your hair that way.

TIPS FOR THE GUYS
• A fresh shave is a must. Stubble cannot be retouched. If you have a beard or mustache, make sure it is neatly trimmed. If your facial hair is not too prominent, you might want to shave and then start fresh on that moustache after your Senior portraits.

• Although not required, a suit jacket and tie make a nice formal indoor portrait. Neat shirts or sweaters work well too. Middle to darker tones are ideal for formal portraits. Again, it is your portrait so pick what suits you the best. (Lynchburg Senior boys: your school requires a tie and NO chin hair for your yearbook portrait.)

• Outdoor photographs tend to be more casual. Selections usually range from a nice shirt and khakis to t-shirts and shorts.

TIPS FOR THE GIRLS
• Wear your makeup like you would normally. Too much makeup gives you an artificial look. A little foundation, mascara and blush is all you really need. Try to avoid eye makeup with glitter, it doesn't photograph well. Remember, blemishes can be retouched.

• Indoor portraits tend to be more formal. A dress, sweater or neat blouse will likely photograph well inside. Avoid sleeveless tops. Choose a color that you normally wear. That is probably the color in which you look your best. Avoid bold, busy prints that could detract from you.
